Sugarberry Memorials Pay it Forward Club

It’s 2 am again. I can’t sleep and I’m up again thinking about what I could possibly do to make Sugarberry Memorials more than a business and more of a service. We were able to donate over $1300 this year to my favorite charity, Smile Train. Five cleft palate surgeries were performed for underprivileged children and their lives were positively altered forever. It’s things like this that make me want to keep going and pushing this in a direction that celebrates the lives of my customer’s loved ones and leave a legacy in their honor.

I thought about how many times someone has randomly paid for my coffee, and how hard it was to be in a bad mood for the rest of the day. It’s a small gesture that somehow restores your faith in humanity. I will never forget when I was nineteen, and pregnant with my first child. I was in line at the cafeteria at my college, and the staff member in front of me in line paid for my food. It left a lasting impression on me, that someone I didn’t even know could do something like that. My son is eleven now, and I still think about that day.

This is why I have chosen to start the Sugarberry Memorials Pay if Forward Club. Ordering a piece of memorial jewelry is so much more than just a financial decision. It’s trying to find a way to keep your loved one close, and honor them in the most beautiful way possible. I always have clients telling me “sorry for so many questions, sorry to keep bothering you, I promise this is the last thing,” etc. I want to be very clear, you are NEVER bothering me. You are NEVER asking too many questions. This is a huge decision and I want to be there for you while you make it.

I read all of your stories, save all of the photos you send, I play the music you request, and I cry with you. This is much more than just a piece of jewelry, this is a lasting tribute to someone that you are missing. I can’t think of anything that is more of an honor to create.

That being said, the idea to start giving back really gripped me. I will be contributing fifty dollars a month towards this cause, which will be given to a customer at random at the beginning of every month. Hopefully, there are like minded people who would also like to help ease some of the financial burden that comes with purchasing these jewelry pieces. My goal currently is to get enough Patreon contributors to where we can reach at least $250 a month to make a huge impact on someone.

If you would like to be a part of this project, please visit my Patreon page and subscribe. Pledges start at $3 a month and every dollar counts. ?

Thank you all, so much. I know this will make a huge impact and I’m so excited to share this journey with you.
